IELTS VS TOEFL : Know the difference






Hi Friends , how are you  :D glad to see you here again \(^▽^)/ , today we are going to know about two International English language tests : TOEFL and IELTS , what are these tests , the difference and which one to choose , whether you are planning to study abroad or for immigration, there are many institutions in the world that require one of these certificates as a part of your application



What is TOEFL ?

the TOEFL is an abbreviation for Test Of English as a Foreign Language , is an International English test , made by ETS (Educational Testing Services), the test has two versions : Paper-based test (PBT) and Internet-based test (IBT) , with more than 30 million test takers worldwide, IBT is the most taken test , it covers four parts : reading, listening ,speaking,writing , with a total score of 120 , the score can be valid for 2 years from the test date , and it's recognised by more than 10,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States.

What About the IELTS ?

the IELTS , or the International English Language Testing System from Cambridge university , is another English Test Internationally recognized , with 3 million test takes last year and over 10000 organizations that accept this certification worldwide, the test has nine scale scoring system (1-9) , and comes in two versions Academic and General Training to comply with different testing purposes , whether it was for study or to work in English speaking countries .


Now we know about the test , but what's difference and what to choose ?

Although both tests serve to test English , but still some differences that make them different from each other , and the choice depends on your purpose and your destination.
